Keep it dry. Selenite is water-soluble, so washing, soaking or leaving it in a damp bathroom can dull the lustre and may cause flaking over time.
It is also a very soft mineral, around Mohs 2, and can be scratched by a fingernail. Clean it only with a dry soft cloth or brush, and store it away from harder stones that could mark the surface.
