About this product

The fragrance in the room
  • Nag Champa has a devotional, incense-like character, suited to slow evenings, reading corners and quiet home rituals.
  • The bright blue granules bring a small visual moment before the scent begins to unfold.
  • They sit neatly in a burner dish, giving fragrance without the drips of oil or the smoke of an incense stick.
  • A small bowl of granules can also scent enclosed spaces such as bathrooms, cupboards or closets.
  • Use them before guests arrive when you want the room to feel more considered and lived-in.
How these granules work

Place a spoonful of granules in the reservoir of a suitable oil or wax burner. They do not need water, and no flame should touch the granules themselves. The gentle heat from beneath warms them so the fragrance can rise.

Replace the granules once the scent has faded. If using them in a small bowl as a room fragrance, keep them where they will not be knocked over or handled by children or pets.

Nag Champa, softly in context

Nag Champa is closely associated with Indian-style incense and devotional spaces, where scent is used to mark a pause from ordinary activity. In the home, that association becomes simple and atmospheric: a warm background fragrance for meditation, journalling, tidying the room before evening, or making a quiet corner feel more intentional. These granules offer that familiar Nag Champa mood in a cleaner burner format, without needing incense ash or scented oil.

Common questions

Do these granules need water?
No. They are used directly in the reservoir of a suitable oil or wax burner.
Can I use them instead of fragrance oil?
Yes, they are designed as a less messy home-fragrance option for burners, with no oil to pour.
Do the granules self-light like incense?
No. Simmering granules do not self-light. They are warmed gently in a burner dish so the scent can release.

Great product. Purchased many times. Smell is long lasting and reusable a few times.

Beautiful scent

Really value for money however the scent doesn't last more than a cpl of hrs at best, we have been putting a teaspoon of water in with the granules and the scent is lasting much longer & just as strong!!! The scent is much smoother than the cones or sticks

Very strong!

Not sure why a few people are saying they don't smell, I put a tea spoon in the bowl and it nearly gasses the house out! Only use a tiny bit! Not quite the same as Nag Champa Joss sticks but lovely all the same. I also got a small free sample of Merry Berry and Mistletoe mix which is really lovely! May get some more of that. I put it on at 7.30 and it's still going now at 10.30!

Surprising; rather nice

I had never heard of simmering granules but love nag champa & can't use incense downstairs as it makes my daughter cough..so thought I would try it. It has an unusual smell, I can definitely smell nag champa but it's slightly odd.. however the kids all enjoy it so it's a hit. The name is misleading by the way, the granules do not simmer. They sit there & get hot & give off a scent. Use a small amount & they last for a couple of uses (candles).

so nice..

Nag Champa... really nice ... really lovely scent and it is delicate. Far much better than burning those sticks as the fumes are not good for your health. It smells as beautiful as the sticks and far better as you will not feel that burning scent around.

Smell does not last long

Really nice smell and product, but the smell only lasts for a max of two 3 hour tealights. Have found this with mist simmering granules which is quite dissapointing.
