The sand is made from plant-based wax granules blended with fragrance, each grain holding a cotton wick at its core. When you light it, the wax around the wick melts and pools, burning like a traditional candle but without needing to be poured or moulded in advance. The format means you can top it up as you go, adding more sand to extend the life of the candle, and it won't drip or run if the vessel tips slightly.

Pour the sand into a heat-proof vessel, ceramic, glass or metal all work, to a depth of at least 2 cm. Smooth the surface, light the exposed wick, and let the wax pool around it. Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each use to keep the flame steady, and never leave it burning unattended or near anything flammable. Stand the vessel on a heat-proof plate or holder, as the base will warm during use.

Maison de Roses is inspired by Roses de Chloé, a fragrance built around the idea of a rose that feels modern and transparent rather than dense or vintage. The bergamot lifts it, the magnolia softens the edges, and the white musk keeps it from reading as purely floral, it's closer to linen and petals on a clean countertop than a formal bouquet. The dusty-rose colour nods to the scent without overstating it, so the candle sits quietly in a room rather than demanding attention.

The pouch contains 300 g of scented sand, enough to fill a medium-sized bowl or several smaller tea-light holders, depending on how you use it.
