These are Satya incense sticks, made in India as coated incense on a bamboo stick. The hand-rolled format gives each stick a tactile, traditional feel, with the scented coating wrapped around a slim bamboo centre.

Light the coated end, let it catch briefly, then blow out the flame so the tip glows. Place the plain end into a heat-resistant incense holder or ash catcher, away from draughts, fabrics and open windows.

Burn in a ventilated room and never leave incense unattended. Let the ash fall naturally, then wait until everything is fully cool before clearing it away.
