About this product

What the monkeys bring to a room
  • The gestures are instantly readable, with one monkey covering the eyes, one the ears, and one the mouth.
  • Brass catches light softly, bringing warmth without needing a bright colour palette around it.
  • The set works well as a mindful desk object, a quiet reminder before speaking, reacting or rushing.
  • Its character sits between playful and philosophical, so it feels at home in both calm and eclectic interiors.
  • The metal will gradually develop more depth with handling and age, giving the surface its own history.
Handmade brass from Indonesia

Made from brass, each figure has the steady, tactile feel that makes metal décor so satisfying to place and move.

Placing and caring for brass

Keep the figurines on a stable, level surface where the gestures can be seen clearly. Dust with a soft dry cloth. Brass naturally develops a patina over time; if you prefer a brighter finish, use a brass-safe polish sparingly and avoid prolonged damp.

The Three Wise Monkeys in context

The Three Wise Monkeys are most widely known through the maxim ‘see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil’. Its meaning is usually read as a reminder to guard what we look at, listen to and say. In a home, the figures carry that idea gently: not as a rule, but as a small visual pause in the day.

Common questions

Will the brass stay the same colour?
Brass naturally deepens and develops a patina with time, especially where it is handled. This is part of the material’s character.
Can I use the figurines outdoors?
They are best kept indoors or in a sheltered dry spot. Prolonged damp can dull brass and encourage tarnishing.
